Walking in Sussex
Pull on your walking boots and enjoy a great day out walking in the Sussex Countryside! There is nothing like exploring a rural lane or a secluded woodland path in the fresh air and there's nothing like the feeling of achievement you get when you have accomplished a walk. Only on foot do you see nature at its finest or take in the rich detail of our heritage and of course there are many health benefits to walking in addition to the simple pleasures of being out in the open. The routes range into quiet Sussex countryside miles from the urban bustle, take in stretches of coastline and even extend right into the heart of a busy city. The jewel in the crown is the 160km South Downs Way National Trail, which follows the ridge of the chalk Downs across Sussex through the South Downs National Park from Eastbourne to Winchester.
