Nymans. National Trust
In the late 1800s, an unusually creative family bought the Nymans estate in the picturesque Sussex Weald to make a home in the country. Inspired by the setting and the soil, the Messels created one of the greatest gardens, with experimental designs and new plants from around the world.
In their home they entertained family and friends, enjoyed relaxing in the garden, playing and picnicking, and walking in the woods.
You can enjoy Nymans in the same way they did. We are reinventing Nymans for the 21st century by working the estate in a new, greener way.
