Arundel Castle and Gardens
Set high on a hill, this great castle commands the landscape with magnificent views across the South Downs and the river Arun. Built at the end of the 11th century, it has been the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors for nearly 1,000 years. There are superb collections of furniture, paintings, armour & weapons, Victorian gardens and the Collector Earls Garden. Opening Times: 1st April - Sun 30th Oct 2011. Tues-Sun incl. Aug Mons and BHol Mons. Fitzalan Chapel, gardens, grounds and Collector Earls Garden 1000-1700. Castle Keep 1100-1630. Main Castle Rooms 1200-1700 (last entry 1600). Shop 1030-1700. Restaurant, Coffee Shop and Gift Shop from 1030.
Length of Visit: 4+ hours. Coach Parking: Free parking for coaches visiting the Castle in public car park opposite Castle gate.
