Beltain: Burning of the Wickerman Saturday 5th May 4.30pm-9.30pm

Beltain (or Beltane) is an ancient Celtic celebration of the beginning of summer, with music, dancing and the burning of the giant wicker man.

You can expect a pleasant afternoon/evening of entertainment and refreshments culminating with the burning of the giant wicker man at dusk!

Other entertainment includes Roman cooking, Ancient Wessex Network, maypole, storytelling, Anglo Saxon re-enactors, Hook Eagle Morris, the Butser Roman Legion, Hants Astro with their telescopes, an artistic maze, various stalls and traditional skills demonstrations in metalworking, leather craft, hurdle making, Iron Age cooking, face painting, flint knapping, willow weaving, Westcotts Coppicing, storytelling, medical herbalist, Celtic life demonstrations, spinning and weaving.
