HALLOWE’EN HALF TERM ACTIVITIES at Weald and Downland

MONDAY 22 OCTOBER TO FRIDAY 26 OCTOBER 2018 11.00am - 3.00pm

Enjoy the great outdoors this autumn half term at the Museum, with fantastic Hallowe’en-themed family activities taking place from 11am-3pm from Monday 22 – Friday 26 October.

Children of all ages can channel their excitement and energy into a range of hands-on activities and outdoor trails with a Hallowe’en theme. Activities vary daily and plan to include: pumpkin carving, face painting, spine-tingling stories, scary eyes pumpkin hunt, floating ghosts, paper pumpkins, leaf clay dish, playdough, string mummies, plus many more make and take home activities. Visiting children are encouraged to wear fancy dress for their visit and each will receive a free sweet treat from our lucky dip.

Activities run from 11am – 3pm daily and children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Don’t worry! Wet weather won’t stop play as there are plenty of covered areas. Children are encouraged to wear fancy dress for their visit – the best costumes receive a sweet treat!

What’s on?

Activities vary from day-to-day and each day’s schedule will be posted online each morning.

What’s on – Half Term – Tuesday 23 October 2018

Around the Museum

Between activities, enjoy the fresh air and see the sheep, heavy horses and the other traditional breed farm animals including oxen, chickens and geese. There are lovely woodland walks and children can explore our woodland play area (and meet Knucker the water dragon).

The Museum’s historic buildings are fascinating places to explore, plus you can learn how food was prepared in the Tudor kitchen and see how flour is milled in the watermill – where you can buy grain and feed the hungry ducks on the mill pond.

Our waterside café will be open, plus there are indoor and outdoor picnic areas. Dogs on leads are welcome and there is ample free parking. Please note that the Museum is a no-smoking site.

Regular entry charges apply (free for annual members) and the Museum will be open from 10.30am to 6pm (shop closed 5.30pm).
